with Greville Henwood

When my daughter was little Greville used to sing Beatles songs for hours on end. The delight he brought to my child has stayed with me. Anyone who has a way with children has a way with the human heart

Join me in this dynamic hands on FUN and PRACTICAL 20 hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training

Working globally since 2004 with children of all backgrounds and sizes and shapes and “abilities”, I’ve seen and heard what works and what doesn’t, why it works, and why it doesn’t and I’m happy to offer this knowledge to YOU!

We look at the teacher - student relationship, how to build an exciting and compelling class for kids aged 3-103. Yes, that’s right, even your Great Grandma is a kid, or was a kid. She hasn’t lost that! Using 10 and 15 minute movement and breathing blocks, we’ll build together two simple 45 minute yoga based movement and breathing exercise classes, I will show you how to adapt them according to ages of the students leaving you with the basis of how to create a safe and interesting experience for kids of all ages.

Having offered over 130 training weekends in 20 countries and training over 1,500 teachers, it’s clear to me that Yoga lends itself perfectly to what we might call “heart centered teachings”, where the feelings of the student are taken into consideration. So in this spirit, I guide you through 4 easy sessions including how to build a well balanced sequence for any kids of any age, safe and easy short breathing exercises that benefit brain function as well as decreasing stress levels, adding a few simple meditation pointers.

Yoga literally means to be at One in the present. This moment, this place. To be here now. Those familiar with perennial philosophy will recognize the words and students of yoga do too. In the first of the ancient Yoga Sutras, Patanjali informs us that “Now begins the practice” wherein yoga is defined as becoming united with Self. We’re all aware that the power of now is immense and using all my years experience in the kids classrooms and yoga studios and birthday parties, and so much more, let’s share some simple techniques that help every teacher in every situation.

Learn over 60 postures, 7 breathing techniques, lots of fun ways to get kids moving, even a song or two to sing with the younger kids! You’ll learn why two age groups work better for kids and how to teach a family yoga class too! The focus will be on doing, on action, on the actual movement and its benefits for kids of all ages. I’ll show you some wonderfully fun games that are played as a group for maximal fun and learning.

Would a fresh perspective help your social emotional day? This program is built on all my years of kids yoga experience, and perhaps what really unites all who “grow up”, our capacity for compassion due to self inflicted pain and occasional grief.
